As you probably already know, exercise is one of the best things you can do to increase your physical and mental health. Most of the people tell me that they don’t have time or they are too tired to even try to move. Therefore, my answer is: try to find the time and make it fun and simple so you can commit to daily movement.
Get moving and get walking. Even 10 minutes daily will make a difference.
These are some tips to make exercise an important part of your energy foundation.
- Don’t hit the snooze button. Get up earlier and increase your metabolism and energy by exercising first thing in the morning
- If you have a dog, take it for daily walks. If you don’t have a dog, then maybe find a friend that comes with you to make it fun. If you are alone then make it as a grateful walk and even as a meditative walk so you do your connection with Nature. Whatever works for you!
- If you are at the gym then read a book while riding the bike. You will be increasing your mental and physical energy at the same time.
- Start dancing again. It is a great way to move and energize. Make one night a week your “go out dancing “night.” However if you can’t do this just put your favorite music at home and take 10 minutes to dance and you will find it very active and fun if you like dancing, just like me. I love to dance.
- For those that like hiking make one or two times a week or in your days off the time for your hike. Once again whatever feels good for you!
- Remember when you start an exercise routine, start with small easy steps. When you start small you realize how easy it is and how great it makes you feel. Then you get addicted to exercise in a positive way.
- If you feel time is your daily enemy when it comes to exercise, break it down. For example, try walking 10 minutes in the morning, 10 minutes after lunch, and 10 minutes after dinner. The benefits are the same.
- Yoga is another way to move and to have the great benefits of the stretches. If you were too busy and did not have time to attend to a yoga class just get yourself a yoga video or go to find on line a yoga session that works for you. These days it is easy with the many sessions on the Internet. Go to my channel LESS STRESS 4U and find sessions that I have for gentle movement, sun salutation sessions or the Dynamic session that really gets your heart rate up. Once again do not make excuses because you can do it if you really want the benefits from moving daily.
NOTE: When you commit to a daily practice of movement that you enjoy even if it is a short time the benefits will be great overtime. It is consistency that gives you results.
